about

This song is a combination of phrases I heard, some insightful, some painfully truthful, some treasonous, over the past 10-years in corporate culture, as well as, the political two-step one must perform in that arena. It’s a difficult dance for everyone, on every step of the ladder, built upon a foundation sledge-hammered by the economic downturn and shifting platforms, so while it’s easy to point fingers, it’s likely not an accurate depiction of the story.

Hold me close, while we conspire
The one you turn, ducks the crossfire

If you listen to this song in headphones, you may notice something striking during the verse; the vocals switch sides, meaning you hear one line on the left and the other on the right. It’s this recording choice that led me to create a video homage to the Electric Company silhouette skit of my childhood. Add cheesy shots of me playing bass and guitar and PRESTO, insta-video!

lyrics

What a sham
What a liar
Pick sides
well that backfired
Bone dry camouflage
Some rummy yelled "hey, it's a mirage."
Hold me close, while we conspire
The one you turn, ducks the crossfire

What a dummy
Rolling the dice
Ready, fire, aim and pay the price

What a dummy
an ultra-maroon
ready, fire, aim
now pop the balloon
