You can’t hurt No you can’t hurt me More than I hurt myself And you can’t hate No you can’t hate me More than I hate myself Aint it strange That’s what she said When your dreams are dying But they’re all that’s left In your heart and your head I can’t save Hey, come save me From myself Cuz I can’t save No I can’t save me From my past And You can’t save No I can’t save me From myself And I can’t save No I can’t save you From your past
2.
Calling Out 03:24
Calling out to your dreams Of fireflies, Jacqueline There’s a light In our hearts A dying star of desire Darling I’m such a mess Why did you stick around Mysterious alchemy cannot sway hearts and souls set on fire I’m lost in my dreams I lose all sense of time I’m lost in a daze We’re running out of time
3.
Hang On 03:18
You’re criminal And so am I Saints are sinners And sinners are saints Until they die Hang on We’re animals An eye for an eye Saints are sinners and sinners are saints Until they die
4.
She melts my heart with an invitation Her smile calls me like an invocation Because we're satellites, just you and me Floating through the debris I always thought I'd die in isolation I vaporized in her detonation Because we're satellites, just you and me Dancing around the machine They never understood the animation So they avoided us like radiation
5.
Burn the tape of all that I have done A halo jump Straight out of the sun We think we’re gonna to live like we'll never die And then we laugh like we’re gonna cry as we spin Straight out of The sun There goes the sun Now your summer's done There's nowhere left to run What’s over has begun And you hide And you're revealed again scent wet on the wind Imposter draped in your skin They'll never let you in She was a satellite Floating I’m Moonlit space debris Eroded And Kessler had it right And I’m loaded A dirty lullaby exploding There goes the sun Now your summer's done There's nowhere left to run What’s over has begun
6.
They’ll take you for a ride My lovely valentine They’ll walk all over you There’s nothing you can do Oh, in her dreams, she makes them pay They’ll take you for a ride My lovely valentine Oh, in her dreams, she makes them pay She makes them pay In her eyes, there’s disguise There’s disguise, in her eyes
7.
I followed your sound I never had any choice When you dug up the ground Did you think that we’d rejoice? It’s a gathering of Gods A gathering of frauds I sank in the sound My limbs numb from the cold I shook like a thief My mistakes manifold It’s a gathering of Gods A gathering of frauds
8.
Shine, valentine, as I melt She says it’s never, too late, to stay Blind, Frankenstein, and I fell She says it’s never, too late, to stay
9.
You can’t look back We can’t get down There’s no escape But love is all around The countdown ends As we leave the ground And leave behind All the souls of lost and found You’re deep in space But you’re not alone So hold my hand And welcome home

about

This album is reflection of how life and politics are squeezing the lower and middle class and what that means for various characters featured in this document. This is our heart blasted through a lens of shoegaze, Husker Du era punk, psych rock, goth and even orchestral pop.

Seattle shoegaze four-piece New Age Healers announce the release of third album Debris June 28th. This follows the release of single “Satellites,” which both debuted on KEXP’s Midday Show with DJ Cheryl Waters, AND was the podcast song of the day on KEXPs Afternoon Show with Kevin Cole, and “Hang On,” which debuted on shoegaze radio station DKFM, and which DJ Heretical called “a corker.” Both singles have been in KEXP's weekly Top-10 of spins in 2019. The psychedelic video for “Satellites” recently debuted on The Big Takeover Mag’. The album was recorded by Barrett Jones (The Spinanes, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, etc.) at Laundry Room Studios and mastered by James Aparicio (Spiritualized, Liars, etc.).

Of Debris, The Big Takeover's Jack Rabid writes, "Seattle’s New Age Healers...are more caterpillar than human, their multi-feet planted in shoegaze (the most), ’60s pyschedelia, proto-punk Stooges/louder Velvets, Ramones, post-punk, and primal garage cavestomp thumping. i.e., they beat linear riffs into sinister submission..."

KEXP’s Don Yates adds, “This Seattle band’s third album is a strong set of shoegaze with fuzzy effects laden guitars, dark lyrics and dreamy melodies.”

Robert Pritchard, Bushwick Garage, Radio Free Brooklyn: “The entire record soars. Debris is old school in that it wants to be heard in its entirety. (T)he whole transcends its parts...Like The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine, Debris hits all the sweet spots between melody, distortion, mayhem and romance.”

Already heard on KEXP, DKFM, Big Takeover Radio, U.K. station Phoenix FM, Matt Catling’s The Reverb, SCAD Atlanta Radio, Radio Free Brooklyn, KOOLROCK Radio, and more.

New Age Healers have received critical acclaim since their inception in 2016. Jim DeRogatis of NPR's Sound Opinions called their debut Ghosts "wonderfully dark, hypnotic shoegaze….”. Dave Segal, The Stranger wrote "Think Failure divided by the square root of the Jesus and Mary Chain. Leader Owen Murphy has a deft hand and foot for slyly catchy melodies and occasional anthemic flourishes.” KEXP called the band’s second full-length Where The Tragic Happens, "...a masterpiece of balance."

New Age Healers was originally conceived as a shoegaze/psych-rock project solo project by Seattle based multi-instrumentalist and main songwriter Owen Murphy but now features singer/drummer Scott Matthews (The Piniellas, The Wannabes), bassist Allen Murray (Modern Athletics) and guitarist Adam Vernick (Lemuria / Devotion), and until recently, bassist Aaron Sankin (The Midnight Snackers, Dubious Ranger).
