SEATTLE, WA - June 21, 2020
Post-psychedelic shoegaze quartet New Age Healers announce their latest single and video, “In Dreams,” following up the acclaimed 2019 release of their third full-length Debris.
The song, written by New Age Healers’ Owen Murphy, features vocal and lyrical contributions from Katie Haley (Soft Science singer, lyricist), guitar from Jim Biggs (Black Nite Crash), Moog from Jupe Jupe frontman My Young and bass and back-up vocals from New Age Healers’ Allen Murray. It was mastered by James Aparicio (Spiritualized, Liars, etc.)
Today, Friday, July 3rd, we are charging $1 for the song, but all proceeds will be donated to Creative Justice, a Seattle based non-profit that uses an “innovative arts-based approach to ending racial disproportionality and youth incarceration.”

“New Age Healers was a project originally started in late 2015 as a way to build community and connection through art,” said New Age Healers frontman Owen Murphy. “This song is a natural extension of that notion. Regardless of the pandemic, fostering friendships via music was, and is, important. Written amidst the Covid-19 crisis, the song represents our hopes and fears many of us feel in this unprecedented time.”
While the bulk of recording was done alone at home by Murphy, bassist Allen Murray recorded bass and back-up vocals at his home in Seattle, WA. Katie Haley (Soft Science) sang her vocals at band-mate Ross Levine's home studio in Sacramento, CA.. Jim Biggs (Black Nite Crash) recorded his guitar parts in West Seattle and My Young (Jupe Jupe) added Moog synthesizer from his home in Seattle.
